I have a 04 Grizzly 660. When im riding it the thumb throttle sticks out to much and fatigues my hand. I there any way to get just the thumb throttle under the bars more. It needs to be more on a 90 degree that sticking out. I never took the throttle lever off...is it splined so you can change the positions or is it keyed?

I prety sure it has a pin in the throttle housing that fits into a predrilled hole in the handlebars to keep the whole assembly from twisting.

Mines the same way. I had to readjust the way I gripped the bar. Couldnt tell of a way to adjust it without getting rid of it and going with a twist throttle.

I dont mind a twist on a sport quad...on a 4x4, I prefer the thumb. And once I retrained my hand to grip it in a different location, i dont have any issues with it.

If the thumb throttle was under the handle bar more it would be comfortable instead of sticking out. Maybe it is a factory safety thing. All of my quads were that way. My 87 4x4 Suzuki 250 had a decent throttle on it but because it was a small engine it was depress a lot more down the trail.

I put a "thumb buddy" or "thumb assist (pro)" on all my machines. Some are adjustable / bendable so you have lots of choices on where to push against the throttle, different angles, and quite possibly you can use different parts of your hand.

I think im going to rotate the whole assy instead of modify the thumb throttle. It is a one piece unit on a shaft.
